Online degrees for working parents

Flexible and affordable online degree programs

Carpool, eight-hour shift, little league game, laundry, band practice, night class…and that’s just Monday. Sounds exhausting, right? That kind of scheduling is exactly the juggling act parents perform every day when they’re working full time and then make the decision to go back to school.

Balancing a family, work and an education can seem an impossible task. After all, there are only so many hours in a day. With some careful planning and a lot of organization, though, getting a Online degree is very possible.

Many of the practical college options for a working parent is the online degree. Going to school online eliminates some of the biggest scheduling concerns that weigh on parents. With an online degree program, you don’t have to worry about missing basketball games or Girl Scout meetings, and it will never interfere with your work schedule. You also can study at home without having to worry about finding or paying for a babysitter while you go to class.

But after working an eight-hour day, putting dinner on the table and attending your kids’ evening activities, where do you fit in the time to study? Most working parents get pretty creative when it comes to finding hidden hours in the day. Lunch hours, for example, are a great chance to review a lecture or post comments to a discussion board. Then, of course, there is that prized time in the late evening after the kids are asleep, and even those quiet hours in the early morning before everyone rushes off to school
